  • Sub metering – This refers to measuring consumption after the primary billing measurement. This type of measurement is used to provide information on the consumption of individual units and to allocate costs accordingly. This system is commonly used in cottage colonies, garden colonies, and garages. The costs associated with the supply of electric energy are then only subject to a single flat rate for one billing meter, and consumption is allocated based on sub meters. The owner of the sub meter is the owner of the consumption point, and the switchboard does not need to be constructed according to the connection conditions of the distribution company.
  • Indirect meters – For high consumption measurements where the current or voltage is higher, it is not feasible for the meter to be manufactured for such high currents or voltages. In these cases, indirect or transformer-based measurement is used. Measuring current transformers are incorporated into the supply measuring line, which reduce the current values in a given ratio (xxx:5), allowing a maximum current of 5A to flow through the meter. The consumption is then manually or automatically multiplied by the same ratio in the meter to determine the actual consumption. Voltage measuring transformers are used similarly.
